Die Stuttgart Surge hat einen ihrer wichtigsten Leistungsträger weiter an sich gebunden: Wide Receiver Louis Geyer hat seinen Vertrag verlängert und bleibt auch in der kommenden Saison eine tragende Säule des Teams. Mit dieser Entscheidung setzt die Surge ein klares Zeichen – sportlich wie emotional.
Der 1,88 Meter große und 91 Kilogramm schwere Wide Receiver zählt seit Jahren zu den Top-Athleten der European League of Football (ELF). Seine Karriere begann 2015 bei den Ludwigsburg Bulldogs, ehe er von 2016 bis 2020 für die U19 der Stuttgart Scorpions auflief. Bereits in der Premierensaison der ELF 2021 war er Teil der Stuttgart Surge, wechselte 2022 zu den Cologne Centurions und kehrte 2023 zurück nach Stuttgart, wo er seither eine zentrale Rolle in der Offense einnimmt und sich als feste Größe im Team etabliert hat.
Geyer überzeugt nicht nur mit konstanten Leistungen, sondern auch mit einer beeindruckenden Vita. 2018 gewann er das U17-Länderturnier und wurde im selben Jahr Südmeister der GFL Juniors. 2021 folgte die Auszeichnung als ELF Rookie of the Year, 2023 die Wahl ins ELF All-Star Second Team und 2024 schließlich der Sprung ins ELF First All-Star Team. Zuletzt erhielt er eine Einladung zum CFL Combine, wo er auch auf internationaler Bühne sein außergewöhnliches Talent unter Beweis stellen konnte.
Und auch in den vergangenen Saisons setzte er Maßstäbe: Im Jahr 2023 erzielte er in zwölf Spielen 863 Yards und sieben Touchdowns. 2024 konnte er diese Leistung mit 854 Yards und beeindruckenden 13 Touchdowns in ebenfalls zwölf Spielen nochmals übertreffen.
Mit seiner Vertragsverlängerung bekräftigt Louis Geyer nicht nur seine enge Verbundenheit zu Stuttgart, sondern auch seine Ambitionen für die kommende Saison – allen voran mit Blick auf das große Ziel, das Finale der ELF im heimischen Stadion zu erreichen. Geyer bringt es in seinen eigenen Worten auf den Punkt: „Ich werde dem Team alles geben, was ich habe. Ich werde eine Führungspersönlichkeit sein, die jeden dazu anspornt, die beste Version von uns selbst zu werden, um die Woche zu gewinnen!“.
Damit sichert sich die Stuttgart Surge nicht nur einen ihrer wichtigsten Schlüsselspieler, sondern auch eine echte Identifikationsfigur. Die Verlängerung von Louis Geyer ist mehr als nur eine Personalentscheidung – sie ist ein Signal an die gesamte Liga: Stuttgart greift nach dem Titel.

The Stuttgart Surge has retained one of their key players: Wide receiver Louis Geyer has extended his contract and will remain a mainstay of the team in the upcoming season. With this decision, the Surge are making a clear statement - both athletically and emotionally.
The 1.88-meter tall and 91-kilogram wide receiver has been one of the top athletes in the European League of Football (ELF) for years. He began his career with the Ludwigsburg Bulldogs in 2015 before playing for the Stuttgart Scorpions U19 from 2016 to 2020. He was already part of the Stuttgart Surge in the ELF's inaugural season in 2021, moved to the Cologne Centurions in 2022 and returned to Stuttgart in 2023, where he has since played a central role in the offense and established himself as a permanent fixture in the team.
Geyer not only impresses with consistent performances, but also with an impressive vita. In 2018, he won the U17 national tournament and became South Champion of the GFL Juniors in the same year.
This was followed by the ELF Rookie of the Year award in 2021, selection to the ELF All-Star Second Team in 2023 and finally the ELF First All-Star Team in 2024. Most recently, he received an invitation to the CFL Combine, where he was also able to demonstrate his exceptional talent on the international stage.
He has also set standards in recent seasons: in 2023, he rushed for 863 yards and seven touchdowns in twelve games. In 2024, he surpassed this performance with 854 yards and an impressive 13 touchdowns in twelve games.
With his contract extension, Louis Geyer not only reaffirms his close ties to Stuttgart, but also his ambitions for the coming season - above all with a view to the big goal of reaching the ELF final in his home stadium. Geyer sums it up in his own words: "Will give this team everything I got. Becoming a leader to push everyone to become the best version of ourselves to win the week!”
