Die Neuzugänge bei Stuttgart Surge reißen nicht ab, der aktuellste kommt aus der CFL an den Neckar. Asnnel Robo spielt bereits seit 2019 in der kanadischen Liga und wechselt zur kommenden Saison nach Stuttgart.
Statement Asnnel Robo: "Ich freue mich sehr darauf, in der Saison 2023 der European League of Football bei Stuttgart Surge zu spielen. Während meiner Zeit in Kanada hatte ich immer ein Auge darauf, wie der Football in Europa wächst und ich wollte unbedingt ein Teil davon sein. Als ich von dem Projekt hörte und davon, was die Organisation in Stuttgart aufbaut, war ich sofort begeistert. Ich habe immer noch dieses Feuer in mir und bin dankbar für die Möglichkeit, auf dem besten Niveau in Europa zu spielen. Ich bin zuversichtlich, dass die Fans der Surge und der European League of Football es genießen werden, uns 2023 spielen zu sehen!"
Der aus Französisch-Guayana stammende Robo spielt seit 2014 Football und wurde in seiner ersten Saison direkt Offensive Player of the Year und Rushing Leader für die Filons du Cégep de Thetford Mines in Kanada. Im CFL Draft 2019 wurde der 1,74 m große und 95 kg schwere Robo in der ersten Runde mit dem dritten Pick von den Montreal Alouettes gedraftet. Noch vor der Saison wechselte er zu den Calgary Stampeders und 2021 schließlich dann zu den Toronto Argonauts. Neben seiner Hauptposition als Runningback, kann er außerdem als Fullback und in den Special Teams zum Einsatz kommen.
Robo lief bereits in der Jugend und später auch als Senior für die französische Nationalmannschaft auf den Platz. Mit ihm steht nun also nach Yannick Mayr und Goran Zec der dritte europäische Import des Surge Rosters für 2023 fest.
The new additions to the Stuttgart Surge roster do not stop and the most recent signing comes from the CFL to the Neckar river. Asnnel Robo has already been playing in the Canadian league since 2019 and moves to Stuttgart for the upcoming season.

A native of French Guiana, Robo has been playing football since 2014 and claimed Offensive Player of the Year and Rushing Leader in his first season for the Filons du Cégep de Thetford Mines in Canada. In the 2019 CFL Draft, the 5′8″ and 208 lbs Robo was drafted in the first round with the third pick by the Montreal Alouettes. He was traded to the Calgary Stampeders before the season and then finally to the Toronto Argonauts in 2021. In addition to his main position as a running back, he can also be used as a fullback and on special teams.
Robo also played for the French national team as a junior and later as a senior. After the signings of Yannick Mayr and Goran Zec, Robo is the third European import of the Surge roster for 2023.
