Der Spieler mit der Rückennummer 1 kehrt zurück zur Stuttgart Surge und wird die Defensive weiter verstärken: Linebacker Sasan Jelvani unterschreibt einen Vertrag für die Saison 2025 und geht somit in seine dritte Saison in Stuttgart.
Der ELF Second Team-All Star von 2023 absolvierte bislang 28 Spiele für die Stuttgart Surge und kam dabei auf beachtliche 128 Total Tackles und 27 Tackles for Loss. Er konnte in den beiden vorherigen Saison 2023 und 2024 ganze 14,5 Sacks an den Mann bringen und erzeugte dadurch 98 Yards Raumverlust für die gegnerische Offensive. Sasan Jelvani ist ein Mann für die Big Plays in der Verteidigung und ein Garant für massiven Druck der Defensive auf die Offense der gegnerischen Mannschaft.
Bereits in der GFL 2 (2019) und in der GFL (2021) war er während seines Engagements für die Saarland Hurricanes ligaweiter Sack Leader (jeweils 12 Sacks). 2021 wurde Jelvani für seine Leistungen ins GFL All-Star Team berufen. Der 29-jährige Deutsche spielte 13 Jahre, nämlich von 2009 bis 2021, für die Saarland Hurricanes und stand vor seinem Wechsel zur Surge in der Saison 2022 bei den Leipzig Kings unter Vertrag.
With the No. 1 into the 2025 season: Sasan Jelvani returns to the Surge!
The player with the back number 1 returns to the Stuttgart Surge and will further strengthen the defense. Linebacker Sasan Jelvani has signed a contract for the 2025 season, marking his third season in Stuttgart.
The 2023 ELF Second Team All-Star has played 28 games for the Surge, recording an impressive 128 total tackles and 27 tackles for loss. In the previous two seasons (2023 and 2024), he racked up 14.5 sacks, resulting in 98 yards of lost space for the opposing offense. Jelvani is known for his big plays on defense and his ability to put massive pressure on the opposing team's offense.
He was the league sack leader in both the GFL 2 (2019) and the GFL (2021) while playing for the Saarland Hurricanes, recording 12 sacks in each league. In 2021, he was named to the GFL All-Star Team for his performances. The 29-year-old German played for the Saarland Hurricanes from 2009 to 2021 and was under contract with the Leipzig Kings in 2022 before joining the Surge in 2023.
