Der 28-jährige Luis Bach spielte bereits für ein D1-Programm in den USA und kommt von den Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns. Nun wird der erfahrene Linebacker die Defense der Stuttgart Surge verstärken.
Statement Luis Bach: „Ich habe mich für Stuttgart Surge entschieden, um eine neue Herausforderung anzunehmen und die ELF kennenzulernen. Der Trainerstab und die Veränderungen im Kader haben eine große Rolle bei meiner Entscheidung gespielt und ich sehe viel Potenzial für die kommende Saison. Mein Ziel ist es, auf jede erdenkliche Art und Weise dazu beizutragen, dass wir gewinnen.“
Der 1,89m große und ca. 100kg schwere Bach spielte von 2015 bis 2016 für die Wyoming Cowboys, dem D1-Programm der University of Wyoming. Dort wurde er 2015 ins Mountain West All-Academic Team gewählt. Von 2016 bis 2019 entschied er sich, an der Black Hills State University in South Dakota zu studieren. Dort spielte er für das D2-Programm BHSU Yellowjackets. 2016 war Bach dort der Defensive Newcomer of the Year und 2018 führte er seine Mannschaft als Team Captain an. 2020 kehrte Bach nach Deutschland zurück, um bis zuletzt für die Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns zu spielen. Dort war Bach in der Saison 2022 der Defensive MVP.
The 28-year-old Luis Bach already played for a D1 program in the USA and joins the team from the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns. Now the experienced linebacker will strengthen the Stuttgart Surge's defense.
Statement Luis Bach: “I chose to play for the Stuttgart Surge to take on a new challenge and experience what the ELF is like. The coaching staff and roster moves played a big role in my decision and I see a lot of potential for the upcoming season. My goal is to contribute in any way possible in order to help us win.”
The 1,89m tall and approx. 100kg heavy Bach played for the Wyoming Cowboys, the University of Wyoming's D1 program, from 2015 to 2016. There, he was selected to the Mountain West All-Academic Team in 2015. From 2016 to 2019, he decided to attend Black Hills State University in South Dakota. There, he played for the D2 program BHSU Yellowjackets. In 2016, Bach was the Defensive Newcomer of the Year there and in 2018, he led his team as a team captain. In 2020, Bach returned to Germany to play for the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns until now. There, Bach was the Defensive MVP in the 2022 season.
