Nach einer langen und erfolgreichen Karriere beendet Aurieus “Ari” Minton seine aktive Laufbahn im American Football. Der 2,08 Meter große Receiver, der mit seiner Athletik und Präsenz über Jahre hinweg beeindruckte, verlässt das Spielfeld.
Minton begann seine Footballreise 2009 bei den Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns, wo er über mehr als ein Jahrzehnt hinweg zu einer festen Größe und prägenden Figur wurde. Mit den Unicorns gewann er vier German Bowls (2012, 2017, 2018, 2022) und zwei CEFL Bowls (2021, 2022). 2014 wurde er vom American Football Verband Deutschland (AFVD) zum Rookie of the Year gewählt. Im selben Jahr feierte er mit der deutschen Nationalmannschaft den Gewinn der Europameisterschaft und sicherte sich 2017 zudem die Silbermedaille bei den World Games.
2023 folgte der Wechsel zur Stuttgart Surge, gemeinsam mit Head Coach Jordan Neuman. Für Minton war es ein neuer Abschnitt in seiner Karriere – in einer Liga, die den europäischen Football auf das nächste Level hob. Mit seiner Erfahrung, seiner Größe und seinen sicheren Händen wurde er schnell zu einem wichtigen Bestandteil der Surge-Offensive. Der Höhepunkt seiner Karriere folgte 2025, als Aurieus Minton mit Stuttgart Surge das Championship Game der European League of Football gewann. Dieser Titelgewinn bedeutete nicht nur den größten Erfolg in der Franchisegeschichte, sondern auch den perfekten Schlusspunkt unter eine herausragende Laufbahn.

A great player steps down: Aurieus "Ari" Minton is ending his career in American football
The 2.08-meter-tall receiver Aurieus "Ari" Minton, who has impressed with his athleticism and presence for years, is leaving the field.
Minton began his football journey in 2009 with the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns, where he became an influential fixture over the course of more than a decade. With the Unicorns, he won four German Bowls (in 2012, 2017, 2018, and 2022) and two CEFL Bowls (in 2021 and 2022). In 2014, the American Football Association of Germany (AFVD) voted him Rookie of the Year. That same year, he won the European Championship with the German national team and secured a silver medal at the 2017 World Games.
In 2023, he moved to the Stuttgart Surge with head coach Jordan Neuman. For Minton, it was a new chapter in his career in a league that took European football to the next level. With his experience, size, and reliable catches, he quickly became an important part of the Surge offense. The highlight of his career came in 2025 when he won the European League of Football Championship with the Stuttgart Surge. This title win marked the greatest success in franchise history and the perfect end to an outstanding career.
