Bei den Planungen für die Stuttgarter Offensive Line setzt das Coaching Staff weiterhin auf die Dienste von Offensive Lineman Benhur Ayra, der nunmehr in seine dritte Saison bei der Stuttgart Surge geht.
Der O-Liner besticht durch seine enorme Präsenz an der Offensive Line und leistete in der Saison 2022 in 8 Spielen und in der Saison 2023 in 10 Spielen stets hervorragende Blockingarbeit für die Stuttgarter Ballträger. Mit seinen stattlichen Maßen von 1,95 m und 169 kg verfügt Ayra über die notwendige Energie und Kraft, um die gegnerische Defense in Schach zu halten.
Mit Stuttgart verbindet Benhur Ayra schon lange eine besondere Beziehung. In der Nachbarstadt Esslingen geboren, war seine erste Footballstation die U19 der Stuttgart Scorpions, für die er von 2011 bis 2013 spielte. Von 2012 bis 2013 spielte er parallel für die Baden-Württemberg Lions, die Landesauswahl. Den Sprung in den Seniorkader der Stuttgart Scorpions schaffte er 2013. Nach fünf Spielzeiten für die Stuttgart Scorpions wechselte Ayra 2018 zu den Braunschweig New Yorker Lions, wo er bis 2021 unter Vertrag stand. In dieser Zeit gewann er einige Titel: 2018 gewann er den Eurobowl XXXII gegen Frankfurt Universe und wurde im selben Jahr für das GFL Allstar Team North nominiert. Den German Bowl gewann er 2019 gegen die Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns und seinen jetzigen Head Coach Jordan Neuman. Im Jahr 2022 kehrte er nach Stuttgart zurück und unterschrieb einen Vertrag bei der Stuttgart Surge, für die er bis Woche 9 der Saison spielte. Im gegenseitigen Einvernehmen zwischen Ayra und dem damaligen Coaching Staff wechselte er nach Schwäbisch Hall zu Jordan Neuman und den Unicorns, mit denen er 2022 erneut den German Bowl gewann. Im Zuge des Umbruchs der Stuttgart Surge unter Jordan Neuman feierte Benhur Ayra 2023 sein Comeback für die Surge und unterschreibt nun seine nächste Vertragsverlängerung. Dabei verfolgt er klare Ziele:

The O-Lineman impresses with his enormous presence on the offensive line and has consistently provided outstanding blocking for Stuttgart's ball carriers in 8 games in the 2022 season and 10 games in the 2023 season. With his imposing dimensions of 1.95 m and 169 kg, Ayra has the necessary energy and strength to keep opposing defenses in check.
Benhur Ayra has had a special relationship with Stuttgart for a long time. Born in the neighboring town of Esslingen, his first American Football club was the U19 Stuttgart Scorpions, for whom he played from 2011 to 2013. He also played for the Baden-Württemberg Lions from 2012 to 2013. In 2013, he made the move to the senior squad of the Stuttgart Scorpions. After five seasons with the Stuttgart Scorpions, Ayra joined the Braunschweig New Yorker Lions in 2018, where he was under contract until 2021. During this time, he won several titles: in 2018, he won the Eurobowl XXXII against the Frankfurt Universe and was nominated for the GFL Allstar Team North in the same year. By mutual agreement between Ayra and the coaching staff at the time, he moved to Schwäbisch Hall to join Jordan Neuman and the Unicorns, with whom he won the German Bowl again in 2022. Benhur Ayra celebrated his comeback for the Surge 2023 during the Stuttgart Surge's rebuild under Jordan Neuman and now signs his next contract extension. He has clear goals:
