Die European Football Alliance (EFA) gibt heute bekannt, dass mindestens zehn Teams, die in der vergangenen Saison in der European League of Football (ELF) gespielt haben, ab 2026 unter dem Banner der EFA antreten werden.
Diese Teams sind nicht mehr an die Franchise-Verträge der ELF gebunden, die entweder Ende 2025 auslaufen oder aus wichtigem Grund gekündigt wurden. Durch diesen gemeinsamen Schritt haben sich die Teams ihre Unabhängigkeit gesichert und sich zu einer Liga zusammengeschlossen, die sie selbst kontrollieren.
„Die Fans können sich darauf verlassen, dass in der nächsten Saison hochwertiger Football von etablierten Teams gespielt wird. Auch wenn andere einen anderen Weg einschlagen, ist die Realität doch, dass mindestens zehn Teams frei von ELF-Verträgen sind und sich der EFA verpflichtet haben. Damit verfügt die Alliance bereits über die kritische Masse, um 2026 eine nachhaltige und professionelle Liga aufzubauen. In den kommenden Monaten könnten weitere Teams hinzukommen. At Least 10 Teams to Compete in the European Football Alliance Starting in 2026
The European Football Alliance (EFA) today announces that at least ten teams who played in the European League of Football (ELF) last season will compete under the EFA banner beginning in 2026.
These teams are no longer bound by ELF franchise agreements — either expiring at the end of 2025 or terminated for cause. By taking this step together, the teams have secured their independence and united to form a league they control.
“Fans can be sure that quality football will be played next season, among well-established teams proudly representing and embedded into Europe’s most iconic cities”, said Mason Parker, CEO and GM of the Prague Lions. "We know there is demand for the sport in Europe, and the best football teams on the continent are working together to deliver a professional product that will make our fans proud.”
The following ten teams are confirmed for the 2026 season:

While others may choose a different path, the reality is that at least 10 teams are free of ELF agreements and committed to the EFA — already giving the Alliance the critical mass to deliver a sustainable and professional league in 2026.
