Re-Signing bei den Wide Receivern. Der junge Frederic Latour wird in der ELF Saison 2022 wieder für Stuttgart Surge auflaufen.
Frederic sagt über sein zweites Jahr bei Surge: „Ich kann hier in idealer Weise mein Studium der Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik mit hochklassigem Football kombinieren. Ich möchte diese Saison vor allem durch meine Leistungen das Team voranbringen und damit den Grundstein für eine erfolgreiche Saison legen. Persönlich möchte ich die Coaches von mir überzeugen, meine Chancen bekommen und diese auch nutzen.”
Das 21-Jährige Talent war sportlich zuerst in der Leichtathletik aktiv und auch seit 2007 im Taekwon-do. Erst bei einem Familienurlaub in den USA entwickelte sich der Enthusiasmus für American Football. Nach dem Besuch des Preseason-Spiels New Orleans Saints at Houston Texans war er von der Athletik der Spieler und vom gesamten Konzept des Spiels und der Sportart begeistert. Nach der Rückreise begann er sofort mit der Suche nach Teams, die in seiner Nähe waren. So landete der gebürtige Würzburger 2016 bei den Panthers aus seiner Heimatstadt.
Dort wurde er schnell zum Stammspieler, blieb drei Jahre lang und konnte 2017 mit dem Team den nordbayerischen Meistertitel im 9er-Football erreichen. Nach seinem erfolgreichen Abitur begann er 2019 sein Studium der Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik in der schwäbischen Landeshauptstadt und wechselte in diesem Zuge zu den Stuttgart Scorpions. Dort blieb er zwei Jahre lang und schloss sich letztes Jahr zur Premierensaison der ELF Stuttgart Surge an. Ein besonderes Highlight war für ihn der Catch zum ersten First Down im Spiel gegen Frankfurt Galaxy. Der 1,93 m große und 90 kg schwere Wide Receiver möchte diese Saison seine Entwicklung fortsetzen und jede Chance nutzen, die sich im bietet.
Another wide receiver re-signs for the 2022 ELF season as young Frederic Latour will play again for Stuttgart Surge.
Frederic about his second season with Surge: "In Stuttgart I can perfectly combine my studies of aerospace engineering with high quality football. I want to lay the foundation for a great season and want to improve the team with my performance. Personally I want to convince the coaching staff and want to use every opportunity I get."
The 21-year-old talent was first active in track and field and also competed in taekwon-do since 2007. His enthusiasm for American football developed through a family holiday in the USA. After visiting a preseason game of the New Orleans Saints at Houston Texans he was impressed by the athleticism of the players and the whole concept of the game itself. When he came back he immediately looked up some teams near his area and in 2017 ultimately began with the Würzburg Panthers in his hometown.
He quickly became a starter, stayed for three years and won the northern Bavarian championship with his team in 2017. After successfully completing his Abitur in 2019, he started studying aerospace engineering in Stuttgart and therefore switched to the Stuttgart Scorpions. Two years later he joined Stuttgar Surge for the inaugural ELF season. A highlight for him was his first catch where he gained a first down against Frankfurt Galaxy. The 6' 3" and 198 lbs wide receiver wants to continue his development with the Surge and wants to use every opportunity he gets.
