Nach dem Trainerwechsel bei Stuttgart Surge waren alle Augen auf die Neubesetzungen im Coaching Staff gerichtet. Mit einer zusätzlichen Woche Vorbereitungszeit hatte man noch etwas Puffer, um den großen Wechsel während der Saison durchzuführen. Leider misslang das Debüt von Interims-Headcoach George Streeter völlig und Stuttgart Surge verlor abermals ohne erzielte Punkte.
Schon die erste Aktion des Spiels gab die Richtung vor, denn die Vikings konnten den Kick-Off bis fast in die Stuttgarter Endzone tragen, hätte Kicker Jonata Loria nicht das Tackle gesetzt. Ein paar Plays später trug Anton Wegan den Ball in die Endzone zur 0:6-Führung, da die Two-Point Conversion nicht erfolgreich war. Der erste Stuttgarter Drive lief gut nach vorne, jedoch ging das Field Goal schlussendlich daneben. Die Vikings konnten im folgenden Drive durch einen Pass auf Kimi Linnainmaa auf 0:14 davonziehen und damit war auch das erste Quarter zu Ende. In Quarter zwei konnten die Gäste zunächst mit einem Field Goal auf 0:17 erhöhen und danach eine Interception fangen. Diese resultierte in einem Punt, den Malcolm Washington überragend in die Endzone lief. Allerdings wurde der Touchdown nicht gewertet, was in einem Spiel mit unzähligen Strafen gegen Stuttgart nicht mehr verwunderlich war. Eine Fumble Recovery der Surge durch Michael Kimpiabi und ein weiteres Field Goal der Vikings zum 0:20 waren noch Highlights vor der Halbzeit.
Im dritten Quarter begann die Stuttgarter Offensive weiter zahnlos, bevor die Defense zeigte, wie es geht und eine Interception durch Paul Veritas eroberte. Daraus konnte kein Kapital geschlagen werden und im Gegenzug lief Jackson Erdman selbst zum 0:27 ein. In Quarter vier waren auf beiden Seiten viele Backups im Spiel und die Luft raus. Trotzdem konnten die Vikings zwei weitere Touchdowns erzielen und das Endergebnis damit auf 0:41 hochschrauben. Ein erwartet schwerer Gegner, der schonungslos alle Fehler ausnutzte.
All eyes were on the newly organized coaching staff after the changes of the last two weeks. Thanks to the bye week there was also one more week to prepare for the big change during the season. Unfortunately the debut of interim head coach George Streeter was not successful as Stuttgart Surge lost once more without scoring any points themselves.
The first play of the game set the tone for the whole afternoon as the Vikings nearly returned the kick off for a touchdown if it wasn't for the tackle of kicker Jonata Loria. Anton Wegan punched the ball in a few plays later for the 0:6 lead as the two point conversion failed. The first Stuttgart drive went well but ended in a missed field goal and no points. The Vikings also scored on their next drive when Kimi Linnainmaa caught a pass to make it 0:14 as the first quarter ended. The second quarter started with a Vienna field goal and the resulting 0:17 as well as an interception for the guests. The following drive stalled and resulted in a punt which Malcolm Washington exceptionally returned for a touchdown. The touchdown didn't cound though, which wasn't surprising in a game were penalties flew in left right and center against the Surge. Apart from that, a Surge fumble recovery through Michael Kimpiabi and another Vikings field goal were the highlights of quarter two.
The Stuttgart offense began the second half as uninspiring as the first half, however the defense showed up and recorded an interception through Paul Veritas. No points could be generated through that though and Jackson Erdman ran in for the next Vikings touchdown to make it 0:27. Quarter four saw a lot of back ups getting action but the last intensity was gone. Nevertheless, Vienna scored two more touchdowns for a final score of 0:41. The Vikings were the tough oponnent everybody expected and they ruthlessly converted every mistake the Surge made.
