Über 240 Mädchen und Jungen in den Altersklassen U13, U16 und U19 verbrachten am Samstag, den 06. April 2024 einen äußerst ereignisreichen Tag auf dem Jakob Johnson Youth Camp 2024 powered by Stuttgart Surge. Das Camp fand bei sommerlichen Temperaturen auf dem Gelände des Polizeisportvereins Stuttgart statt.
Die footballbegeisterten Kids wurden, nachdem sie ihre Camp-Jerseys und Goodie Bags erhalten haben, um 10:00 Uhr von Jakob Johnson und Surge Head Coach Jordan Neuman auf dem Platz begrüßt. Nach anschließenden Gruppenfotos wurden die Kinder auf zwei Sportplätzen von ihren Coaches mithilfe verschiedener Sessions und Drills durch den Tag geleitet. Die Football-Expertise war an diesem Tag sehr hoch und auch vielfältig: Jakob Johnson und Jordan Neuman wurden vom Surge Coaching Staff und vielen Surge-Spielern wie unter anderem Louis Geyer, Chris Ezeala und Maleka Mbala unterstützt. Darüber hinaus waren zahlreiche bekannte Gesichter aus der Football-Welt anwesend: ProSieben-Moderator Christoph "Icke" Dommisch, RTL-Expertin und Footballspielerin Mona Stevens, Football-Expertin und Surge-Defense Assistant Coach Nadine Nurasyid, und einige NFL-Profis wie Marcel Dabo (Indianapolis Colts), Dominik Eberle (zuletzt Detroit Lions) und David Bada (zuletzt Washington Commanders).
Die rund 500 Zuschauerinnen und Zuschauer, die dem Youth Camp beiwohnten, konnten dabei nicht nur das hohe Talent der Jugendlichen, dass sich in zahlreichen Übungen und Challenges zeigte, beobachten. Um 11:30 Uhr luden Jakob Johnson, die Stuttgart Scorpions und die Stuttgart Surge zu einem gemeinsamen Pressegespräch ein, bei dem unter dem Applaus der Gäste die zukünftige Kooperation der beiden Clubs verkündet wurde. Am Nachmittag gab es zudem noch nachbarschaftlichen Besuch: Der VfB Stuttgart kam in Person von Ex-Torhüter Timo Hildebrand und dem Maskottchen Fritzle auf das Camp und tauschten Trikots mit Surge GM Suni Musa und HC Jordan Neuman aus.
Das dritte Jakob Johnson Youth Camp, davon das zweite powered by Stuttgart Surge, war ein voller Erfolg. Nach der Siegerehrung mit zahlreichen Awards, Urkunden und Medaillen haben nicht nur die Kids gestrahlt, sondern auch Jakob Johnson selbst:
„Wir sind sehr zufrieden mit dem Camp! Unser Ziel ist es, jedes Jahr noch besser zu werden und den Kids noch mehr beizubringen. Das ist uns heute auf jeden Fall gelungen. Es gibt soviel Talent und Potential hier, das wir weiter fördern müssen!"
Auch Jordan Neuman zeigte sich sehr zufrieden mit dem diesjährigen Youth Camp:
„Man merkt auf jeden Fall, dass wir das Camp nun im zweiten Jahr organisieren. Es sind mehr Kids gekommen, die Organisation, das Sportliche, das Wetter, heute passt einfach alles. Unser Ziel ist es, die Kids in Bewegung zu bringen und dass sie Spaß haben. Das ist uns heute definitiv gelungen."
Auch Nadine Nurasyid war begeistert und fasste das gesamte Camp folgendermaßen zusammen:
„So viele Kids, auch so viele Football-Spielerinnen - und alle haben richtig Bock, besser zu werden und das bei bestem Wetter! Was gibt es Besseres im Football als ein solches Camp? Alle sind zusammen und alle haben Spaß!"
Over 240 girls and boys in the U13, U16 and U19 age groups spent an extremely eventful day at the Jakob Johnson Youth Camp 2024 powered by Stuttgart Surge on Saturday, April 6, 2024. The camp was held at the Stuttgart Police Sports Club in warm summer temperatures.
After receiving their camp uniforms and goodie bags, the football-loving kids were welcomed onto the field by Jakob Johnson and Surge Head Coach Jordan Neuman at 10:00 am. After a group photo, the kids were led by their coaches through various sessions and drills on two different fields. The level of football skill on this day was very high and varied: Jakob Johnson and Jordan Neuman were joined by the Surge coaching staff and many Surge players such as Louis Geyer, Chris Ezeala and Maleka Mbala. In addition, many well-known faces from the football world were present: ProSieben host Christoph "Icke" Dommisch, RTL expert and football player Mona Stevens, football expert and Surge Defense Assistant Coach Nadine Nurasyid, and several NFL professionals such as Marcel Dabo (Indianapolis Colts), Dominik Eberle (most recently Detroit Lions) and David Bada (most recently Washington Commanders).
The approximately 500 spectators who attended the youth camp were not only able to observe the high level of talent that the youngsters showed in numerous exercises and challenges. At 11:30 a.m., Jakob Johnson, the Stuttgart Scorpions and the Stuttgart Surge held a joint press conference to announce the future cooperation between the two clubs. In the afternoon there was also a neighborly visit: VfB Stuttgart came to the camp with their former goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand and their mascot Fritzle and exchanged jerseys with Surge GM Suni Musa and HC Jordan Neuman.
The third Jakob Johnson Youth Camp, the second powered by Stuttgart Surge, was a complete success. After the award ceremony with numerous awards, certificates and medals, not only the kids were beaming, but also Jakob Johnson himself:
"We are very happy with the camp! Our goal is to get better every year and teach the kids more. We definitely did that today. There is so much talent and potential here that we need to keep nurturing!“
Jordan Neuman was also very pleased with this year's camp:
"You can definitely tell that this is the second year we've organized the camp. More kids came, the organization, the sports, the weather, everything is just right today. Our goal is to get the kids moving and having fun. We definitely achieved that today.“
Nadine Nurasyid was also pleased and summed up the entire camp as follows:
"So many kids, so many football players - and everyone really wanted to get better and in the best weather! What could be better in football than a camp like this? Everyone is together and everyone is having fun!"
