Surge verlängert mit Fullback Maximilian Merwarth

Fullback Maximilian Merwarth bleibt seiner Heimatstadt treu. Der gebürtige Stuttgarter bleibt auch für die Saison 2024 der Stuttgart Surge erhalten und wird als Fullback weiterhin das Laufspiel der Offensive unterstützen.

Letzte Saison wechselte Merwarth aus der GFL zur Stuttgart Surge. Zuvor war er von 2014 bis 2022 für lange Zeit für die New Yorker Lions aus Braunschweig tätig und feierte dort viele Erfolge. Insgesamt acht bedeutende Titel konnte Maximilian Merwarth ergattern: viermal den German Bowl (2014, 2015, 2016 und 2019) sowie viermal den Eurobowl (2015, 2016, 2017 und 2018). Ausgebildet für seine erfolgreiche Karriere wurde der Fullback, der auch als Tight End einsetzbar ist, von 2009 bis 2013 unter dem Fernsehturm bei den Stuttgart Scorpions.

Surge expand with fullback Maximilian Merwarth

Fullback Maximilian Merwarth is staying in his hometown. The Stuttgart native will remain with the Stuttgart Surge for the 2024 season and will continue to support the offense's running game as a fullback.

Merwarth joined the Stuttgart Surge from the GFL last season. Prior to that, he enjoyed a long and successful stint with the New Yorker Lions of Braunschweig from 2014 to 2022. Maximilian Merwarth has won a total of eight major titles: the German Bowl four times (2014, 2015, 2016 and 2019) and the Eurobowl four times (2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018). The fullback, who can also play tight end, was a member of the Stuttgart Scorpions from 2009 to 2013 in preparation for his successful career.

There is still one trophy missing from Maximilian Merwarth's showcase, and he wants to win it in 2024:
