Ein weiteres Stuttgarter Eigengewächs geht in seine vierte Saison bei der Stuttgart Surge: Defensive Back Julian Jakob wird auch in der Saison 2024 Teil der Stuttgarter Defense sein und hat dabei ein klares Ziel vor Augen:

Seit 2021 ist Julian Jakob für die Stuttgart Surge im Einsatz. In der ersten Spielzeit der Liga stand der 1,83 m große und 85 kg schwere Cornerback, der auch als Safety eingesetzt werden kann, in 9 Spielen auf dem Platz und kam dabei auf 16 Total Tackles und zwei Tackles for Loss. Nachdem er sich in der Vorbereitung auf die Saison 2022 verletzte und die gesamte Saison aussetzen musste, feierte er 2023 sein Comeback und war ein elementarer Bestandteil der Stuttgarter Defense, die die Finalteilnahme in Duisburg ermöglichte. Jakob war dabei für 25 Total Tackles, zwei Interceptions sowie einen Pass Breakup in 13 Partien verantwortlich.
Der 23-jährige Deutsche wurde in Ludwigsburg geboren und begann seine Footballkarriere in der Saison 2017 bei den dort ansässigen Bulldogs. 2018 wechselte er zu den Pattonville Generals und spielte ab 2019 bis zu seinem Debüt in der European League of Football für die Stuttgart Scorpions.
Mit Julian Jakob setzt die Stuttgart Surge weiterhin auf Kontinuität und Flexibilität im Defensive Backfield.

Julian Jakob has been playing for the Stuttgart Surge since 2021. In his first season in the league, the 1.83m, 85kg cornerback, who can also play safety, appeared in 9 games and recorded 16 total tackles and two tackles for loss. After being injured during the preparation for the 2022 season and having to sit out the entire season, he made his comeback in 2023 and was an integral part of the Stuttgart defense that made the final appearance in Duisburg possible. Jakob totaled 25 tackles, two interceptions and one pass break-up in 13 games.
The 23-year-old German native was born in Ludwigsburg, and began his football career with the local Bulldogs during the 2017 season. He joined the Pattonville Generals in 2018 and played for the Stuttgart Scorpions from 2019 until his debut in the European League of Football.
With the addition of Julian Jakob, the Stuttgart Surge continue to look for continuity and flexibility in the defensive backfield.
