Jean-Charles Moukouri, von allen nur Sanka genannt, lässt sein Team nicht hängen und bleibt auch für die zweite Saison der European League of Football in Stuttgart.
Sanka stieß erst während der laufenden Saison letztes Jahr zum Team und sagt jetzt über den Verbleib: „Warum ich bei Surge bleibe? Weil das hier wie eine Familie für mich geworden ist. Wenn ich daran denke, wie es letztes Jahr lief und was wir alles durchmachen mussten, da lasse ich hier niemanden im Stich, niemals. Ich kenne die Mannschaft mittlerweile, ich liebe die Stadt und ich verstehe mich mit Spielern, Trainern und einfach allen, wirklich sehr gut.”
Der 1,73 m große und 95 kg schwere Sanka war zunächst in der Leichtathletik aktiv und überzeugte dort als Sprinter, was sich etwa bei seiner Zeit im 40-Yard Dash zeigt. Hier konnte er erst dieses Jahr schon Zeiten im Bereich von 4,56 - 4,57 Sekunden erzielen und dürfte somit zu den schnelleren Spielern der Liga zählen. Wer sich ihm also in den Weg stellt, sollte sich auf einen knallhartes Tackling gefasst machen.
2018 begann er mit American Football, da er seine Liebe für den Kontaktsport entdeckte. Zunächst ging er in Frankreich im Raum Paris für Les Mousquetaires an den Start, bevor ein Wechsel zu Flash de La Courneuve folgte. 2019 ging er dann in die USA, um in Texas Arena Football zu spielen. Im Folgejahr ging er zu den Cedar Rapids River Kings in die Indoor Football League. Dort wurde die Saison jedoch bereits nach zwei Spielen abgebrochen, da die Pandemie alle Pläne durchkreuzte
Mitten in der letztjährigen Saison kam der 27-Jährige schließlich nach Stuttgart zu Surge in die ELF und fand dort schnell Anschluss. Der Personal Trainer, der in seiner freien Zeit noch immer in Paris und Texas tätig ist, geht dabei stets als Vorbild voran. Seine Leidenschaft für den Sport zeigt sich auch daran, dass er Kindern in Paris nicht nur zeigt, wie man auf dem Feld und als Sportler erfolgreicher wird, sondern auch als Mensch abseits des Feldes. Mit seiner ehrgeizigen Einstellungen und der Devise, niemals aufzugeben, will er Surge diese Saison zum Erfolg verhelfen.
Jean-Charles Moukouri, better known as Sanka, will not let his team down and is staying in Stuttgart for the second season of the European League of Football.
Sanka only arrived midway through the last season and now states: “Why Surge? Because it’s a family to me. When I remember what we’ve been through last year I will never give up on this team. I know this team, I love the city and I am very open and close to everyone, players and team managers.”
Sanka was initially active in track and fields and was known as a sprinter, which shows in his times at the 40-yard dash. This year he was able to achieve times in the region of 4.56/4.57 seconds and for that reason should be one of the faster guys in the league. Players getting in the way of the 5′ 8″ and 209 lbs running back should therefore prepare themselves for a hard impact.
He started playing American football in 2018 because he loves contact sports and first joined teams of his home region of Paris, namely Les Mousquetaires and Flash de La Courneuve. In 2019, he headed to the US to play Arena Football in Texas. A move to the Cedar Rapids River Kings of the Indoor Football League followed next year, but the season was cancelled after two games played due to the pandemic.
During last year’s season, the 27-year old came to Stuttgart to join the Surge and the ELF and quickly found his feet. Sanka, still working as a personal trainer in Paris and Texas in his free time, always leads by example. In his home of France he regularly helps kids to become a better athlete on the field, but also a better person off the field, which shows his passion for the sport. This year he wants to lead the Surge to success with his ambitious attitude and his never-say-die spirit.
