Nach dem sich die Stuttgart Surge am vergangenen Spieltag mit dem 38:28-Auswärtssieg bei den Raiders Tirol den Central Conference-Titel und den Einzug in die Playoffs sicherte, steht nun das letzte Spiel der Regular Season an. Am Sonntag, dem 03. September, ist um 16:25 Uhr Kickoff für das Heimspiel gegen die Helvetic Guards.
Die Surge will das zweite Spiel gegen die Helvetic Guards erfolgreicher gestalten wie das erste, als man auswärts eine 13:31-Niederlage einstecken musste. Auch wenn die Playoffs schon sicher sind, will man mit einem weiteren Erfolgserlebnis in die Playoffs starten.
Die Helvetic Guards spielen wie die Surge in der Central Conference der European League of Football. Dort stehen sie mit drei Siegen und acht Niederlagen auf dem vierten Platz und haben keine Chance mehr in die Playoffs einzuziehen. Trotzdem werden auch die Guards ihre Saison mit einem Sieg beenden wollen. Daran wird vor allem Silas Nacita ein großes Interesse haben. Das amerikanische Schweizer Taschenmesser der Guards wird nach dieser Saison seine aktive Karriere beenden. In dieser Saison war Nacita mit 500 Receiving Yards und 480 Rushing Yards einer der wichtigsten Spieler für die Guards. Von dem Running Back/Wide Receiver profitierte vor allem auch US-Quarterback Tristan Noble, der bisher für 780 Yards und vier Touchdowns warf. In der Defense der Guards überzeugten besonders der amerikanische Defensive End John Tavai (6 Sacks, 12 Tackles for Loss) und der französische Cornerback Maceo Beard (8 Interceptions). Angeführt wird das Team vom erfahrenen Head Coach Norm Chow, der viele Jahre als College- und NFL-Coach tätig war.
Vor ca. 4000 Zuschauern will die Surge nun also einen Heimsieg im letzten Spiel der Regular Season feiern und den Schwung dann mit in die Playoffs nehmen.
After the Stuttgart Surge secured the Central Conference title and a place in the playoffs with a 38:28 away win at the Raiders Tirol last week, the last game of the regular season is coming up. Kick-off for the home game against the Helvetic Guards will be on Sunday, the 3rd of September, at 4:25 pm.
The Surge want to make the second game against the Helvetic Guards more successful than the first, when they suffered a 13:31 defeat away from home. Even though the playoffs are already certain, they want to start into the playoffs with another winning feeling.
Like the Surge, the Helvetic Guards play in the Central Conference of the European League of Football. They are in fourth place with three wins and eight losses and have no chance of making the playoffs. Nevertheless, the Guards will also want to end their season with a win. Especially Silas Nacita will have a great interest in that. The American Swiss Army Knife of the Guards will end his active career after this season. This season Nacita was one of the most important players for the Guards with 500 receiving yards and 480 rushing yards. So now, in front of a crowd of around 4000, the Surge want to celebrate a home win in the last game of the Regular Season and then take the momentum into the playoffs.
