Nach dem 31:22-Auswärtssieg bei den Barcelona Dragons, steht für die Stuttgart Surge in Woche 13 wieder ein Auswärtsspiel an. Am Samstag, dem 26. August, ist um 18 Uhr Kickoff für das Spiel gegen die Raiders Tirol im Tivoli Stadion in Innsbruck. Bei diesem Spiel kann die Surge mit einem Sieg die Central Conference gewinnen, und damit zum ersten Mal in der Franchise-Geschichte in die Playoffs der European League of Football einziehen.
Momentan steht die Surge mit acht Siegen und zwei Niederlagen auf dem ersten Platz der Central Conference, gefolgt von den Raiders Tirol mit sieben Siegen und drei Niederlagen. Mit einem Sieg wären die Stuttgarter also bei nur noch einem verbleibenden Spieltag nicht mehr einzuholen. Das Hinspiel in Stuttgart konnte die Surge knapp mit 6:3 gewinnen. Zu dieser Zeit spielten noch Quarterback Christian Strong und Wide Receiver Jarvis McClam für die Raiders, welche mittlerweile beide das Team verlassen haben. Nun wird die Offense vom US-Quarterback Joseph Dolincheck angeführt. Außerdem verstärkten die Raiders ihre Offense mit Wide Receiver Trevon Sidney. Mit Philipp Haun (530 Yards, 5 Touchdowns) und Marco Schneider (415 Yards, 3 Touchdowns) hat Dolincheck zwei weitere starke Anspielstationen. Ein weiterer Schlüsselspieler der Raiders-Offense ist Running Back Tobias Bonatti mit 600 Yards und fünf Touchdowns. Auch die Defense der Raiders ist mit Spielern wie Defensive Back Divine Buckrham (5,5 Tackles for Loss, 3 Interceptions) oder Defensive End Niklas Gustav (10,5 Sacks, 14 Tackles for Loss) sehr gut besetzt. Dementsprechend erzielen die Gegner der Raiders im Schnitt auch nur 16 Punkte pro Spiel. Angeführt werden die Raiders vom US-amerikanischen Head Coach Kevin Herron, der bereits seit 1999 in Deutschland und Österreich in unterschiedlichen Rollen als Coach tätig ist.
Auf die Surge wartet in Österreich beim zweiten Auswärtsspiel in Folge also eine schwierige Aufgabe. Trotzdem ist es das Ziel, das Spiel zu gewinnen und mit dem Central Conference-Titel und dem ersten Playoff-Einzug der Franchise-Geschichte zurück nach Stuttgart zu fahren.
