Zum sechsten Spieltag gastierte der amtierende Champion Frankfurt Galaxy in Stuttgart und das Spiel war an Spannung kaum zu überbieten. Das erste Quarter begann Stuttgart furios mit einem sehr langen Drive, der schlussendlich an der Endzone ins Stocken geriet und nur mit einem Field Goal durch Luca Faschian beendet wurde. Nachdem der erste Angriff der Frankfurter gut abgewehrt werden konnte, war es Neuzugang Jalen Conwell mit seinem ersten Touchdown für Stuttgart, der im zweiten Quarter auf 10:0 erhöhte. Im Gegenzug konnte Galaxy nach einem Sack einen sehr langen dritten Versuch verwerten und durch einen Pass auf Reece Horn zum 10:7 verkürzen. Das restliche Viertel wurde von zwei sehr starken Defenses dominiert, die je zwei Drives beider Teams nach nur vier Versuchen beendeten. Kurz vor der Halbzeit konnte Dante Vandeven eine dominante Teamleistung krönen, indem er selbst zum 17:7 einlief und Stuttgart Surge vom ersten Saisonsieg träumen ließ.
In Halbzeit zwei arbeitete Frankfurt sich schnell bis an die Endzone vor, konnte jedoch auch im vierten Versuch keinen Score erzielen. Die Offense von Stuttgart war nicht auf dem Level der ersten Halbzeit und nach guter Feldposition konnte Galaxy durch ein Field Goal auf 17:10 verkürzen. Der Bruch im Spiel war komplett, als Ja’len Embry einen Pass von Vandeven abfing. Frankfurt konnte daraus jedoch kein Kapital schlagen und so ging es ins letzte Quarter. Ein versuchtes Field Goal von Surge wurde zum Touchdown zurückgetragen, durch eine Strafe aber annulliert. Ein Fumble Recovery durch Precious Ogbevoen und eine Frankfurter Interception erbrachte zwei schnelle Ballwechsel, bevor Jakeb Sullivan zum 17:17-Ausgleich einlief. Nachdem Bryan Yankson den Ball verlor und jedes Team eine weitere Interception fing, konnte Galaxy eine Minute vor Schluss erstmals durch ein Field Goal mit 17:20 in Führung gehen, doch Surge antwortete mit einem schnellen Drive und erzwang die Overtime. Dort scheiterten alle Drives entweder an vergebenen Field Goals oder Interceptions, bevor Lorenz Regler in der dritten Overtime einen Touchdown fing und damit die Herzen aller Stuttgarter Fans brach. Surge war in fast allen Statistiken besser, jedoch nicht beim entscheidenden Endergebnis.
Stuttgart Surge hosted the reigning champions Frankfurt Galaxy on gameday six and it was an absolute nail-biter full of excitement. The Surge started with an impressive drive lasting nearly the full quarter, but stalled right before the end zone resulting in only three points thanks to a Luca Faschian field goal. After the first attack of Frankfurt was well defended, it was new signing Jalen Conwell with his first touchdown for Stuttgart, who increased the lead to 10-0 in the second quarter. Galaxy responded well and was able to convert a very long third down pass to Reece Horn and cut the lead down to 10-7. The rest of the second quarter was dominated by two great defenses stopping two drives each after just four plays. Right before halftime, Dante Vandeven capped of a dominant Surge performance by running in from over 40 yards to extend the lead to 17-7. The dream of getting the first win of the season seemed to come true.
In the second half, Frankfurt quickly worked their way towards the end zone, but couldn't score on fourth down. The Surge offense was not on the level of the first half and after the Galaxy regained the ball in good field position, they scored a field goal to make it 17-10. The game was turned on its head when Ja'len Embry intercepted Vandeven, but Frankfurt was unable to capitalize and the game went into the last quarter. An attempted field goal by the Surge was returned for a touchdown, but was nullified by a penalty. A fumble recovery by Precious Ogbevoen and a Frankfurt interception lead to two quick changes in posession before Jakeb Sullivan ran in for a touchdown to tie the game at 17-17. After Bryan Yankson fumbled the ball and each team caught another interception, Galaxy scored a field goal to take the lead with less than a minute remaining, but Surge answered with a quick drive to force overtime. There, all drives failed either due to missed field goals or interceptions, before Lorenz Regler caught a touchdown in the third overtime to break the hearts of all Stuttgart fans. Surge was better in almost every statistic, except for the decisive final score.
