Das offensive Backfield der Stuttgart Surge nimmt weiter Gestalt an: Nicolas Khandar hat seinen Vertrag für die Saison 2024 verlängert.
Der französische Runningback wurde im Laufe der vergangenen Saison (Anfang August) als Verstärkung für das Stuttgarter Laufspiel verpflichtet und kam in der restlichen Spielzeit in 7 Spielen zum Einsatz. Dabei konnte er insgesamt beachtliche 506 Rushing Yards und 4 Touchdowns für die Stuttgarter Offense erlaufen. Im Spiel gegen die Barcelona Dragons in Week 12 gelang ihm dabei mit 35 Yards sein längstes Rushing Play der Saison.
Der in Paris geborene Khandar möchte auch weiterhin Teil des Stuttgarter Teams bleiben:

Seinen ersten Meisterschaftstitel errang Khandar 2012 in der französischen American Football-Liga Championnat Élite de Football Américain mit den Spartiates d'Amiens. Sechs Jahre später gelang ihm dies mit der Flash de la Courneuve, für die er 2018 bis 2020 spielte, zum zweiten Mal. Bevor er 2023 zur Stuttgart Surge stieß, spielte er von 2022 bis 2023 bei den Black Panthers Thonon. Dort wurde er in der Saison 2022/2023 von der französischen Liga zum „MVP francais“ gekürt und gewann zum dritten Mal das Casque de Diamant und somit die französische Meisterschaft. Darüber hinaus stand er mit den Black Panthers Thonon im CEFL Bowl 2023.
Zwischenzeitlich sammelte der Runningback wertvolle Erfahrungen im kanadischen Football: 2013 war er für die Collegemannschaft der Cégep de Thetford in Quebec und 2014 bis 2017 für die McGill Redbirds der McGill University in Montreal im Einsatz.
The Stuttgart Surge offensive backfield continues to take shape: Nicolas Khandar has extended his contract through the 2024 season.
The French runningback was signed last season (early August) to bolster Stuttgart's running game and played in 7 games over the course of the season. He was able to run for impressive 506 rushing yards and score 4 touchdowns for the Stuttgart offense. He had his longest rushing play of the season in Week 12 against the Barcelona Dragons. It went for 35 yards.
Khandar, who was born in Paris, wants to remain a part of the Stuttgart team:

Khandar won his first championship title in 2012 with the Spartiates d'Amiens in the French American football league named Championnat Élite de Football Américain. Six years later, he achieved it for the second time with the Flash de la Courneuve, for whom he played from 2018 to 2020. Before joining the Stuttgart Surge in 2023, he played for the Black Panthers Thonon from 2022 to 2023. There he was named "MVP francais" of the French league in the 2022/2023 season and won the Casque de Diamant and thus the French championship for the third time. He also played in the 2023 CEFL Bowl with the Black Panthers Thonon.
In the meantime, the runningback gained valuable experience in Canadian football, playing for the Cégep de Thetford college team in Quebec in 2013 and for the McGill Redbirds of McGill University in Montreal from 2014 to 2017.
