In dem 26-jährigen US-Amerikaner Darrell Stewart verpflichtet Stuttgart Surge eine neue Anspielstation für Quarterback Jan Weinreich. Der Wide Receiver spielte zuvor für die New Jersey Generals und konnte schon NFL-Luft schnuppern.

Der 1,86m große und 97Kg schwere Stewart spielte von 2015 bis 2019 für das Division I-Programm Michigan Spartans der Michigan State University. In dieser Zeit konnte er mit den Spartans die Big Ten Championship (2015), den Holiday Bowl (2018) und den Pinstripe Bowl (2019) gewinnen. Nach seiner College-Karriere nahmen ihn sowohl die Greenbay Packers als auch die Carolina Panthers 2020 für kurze Zeit unter Vertrag. Anschließend spielte Stewart für zwei Jahre in der GFL für die Dresden Monarchs, wo er 2021 den German Bowl gewann. Zuletzt spielte er wieder in den USA für die New Jersey Generals in der United States Football League. Nun kehrt Stewart nach Deutschland zurück, um die Offense der Surge zu verstärken
Stuttgart Surge has signed 26-year-old US American Darrell Stewart as a new playmaker for quarterback Jan Weinreich. The wide receiver previously played for the New Jersey Generals and has already had a chance to get a taste of the NFL.

The 1,86m tall and 97Kg heavy Stewart played for the Division I program Michigan Spartans of the Michigan State University from 2015 to 2019. During that time, he helped the Spartans win the Big Ten Championship (2015), the Holiday Bowl (2018) and the Pinstripe Bowl (2019). After his college career, both the Greenbay Packers and Carolina Panthers signed him for a short time in 2020. Stewart then played for two years in the GFL for the Dresden Monarchs, where he won the 2021 German Bowl. Most recently, he returned to the USA to play for the New Jersey Generals in the United States Football League. Now Stewart is returning to Germany to strengthen the Surge's offense.
