Das Coaching Staff der Stuttgart Surge erhält neuen Zuwachs auf der Position des Defense Assistant Coaches: Mit Nadine Nurasyid erweitert Jordan Neuman das Trainerteam der schwäbischen Franchise und verstärkt die Defense der Stuttgarter mit einer hochkarätigen Personalie.
Nadine Nurasyid gehört seit vielen Jahren zu den bekanntesten Aushängeschildern des American Football in Europa. Als Spielerin begann die gebürtige Münchnerin 2013 bei den Munich Cowboys Ladies, bei denen sie bis 2018 aktiv war. Gleich in ihrer ersten Saison wurde sie als Rookie of the Year und 2015 als Most Valuable Player der Defense ausgezeichnet. Zwischen 2015 und 2018 wurde sie regelmäßig in die Football-Nationalmannschaft der Frauen einberufen, wo sie unter anderem an den World Women's Football Games in den USA teilnahm. Von 2016 bis 2017 war sie zudem in der Flag-Football-Nationalmannschaft aktiv und wurde 2017 Vize-Europameisterin. 2018 stand sie in ihrer letzten Saison als Spielerin im Ladiesbowl der Football-Damenbundesliga des AFVD und wurde zur Most Valuable Player des Ladiesbowls gekürt.
Bereits während ihrer aktiven Zeit als Spielerin übernahm Nurasyid Aufgaben im Coachingbereich: 2016 übernahm sie bei den Straubing Spiders zunächst die Funktion eines Position Coaches und war 2018 als Defensive Coordinator für die Verteidigung der Spiders, die in die GFL2 aufgestiegen waren, verantwortlich. Nach Beendigung ihrer Spielerinnenkarriere verpflichteten sie die Munich Cowboys ab 2019 als Defensive Back Coach für die Herrenmannschaft in der GFL. Im Laufe der Saison 2021 wurde sie zum Defensive Coordinator der Munich Cowboys befördert. Aufgrund ihrer Erfolge in der Defense übernahm sie ab 2022 zusätzlich die Position des Head Coaches der Munich Cowboys und setzte damit international ein markantes Zeichen: Sie ist die bislang erste und einzige Frau in Europa, die als Head Coach ein Herren-Footballteam in der ersten Liga führte. Aber nicht nur damit setzte sie ein Ausrufezeichen: 2022 wurde sie zudem als Coach of the Year geehrt, da sie die Munich Cowboys mit der besten Defense der gesamten GFL in die Playoffs führte. Seit 2021 gehört Nurasyid auch dem Trainerstab der deutschen Nationalmannschaft an.
Zwischenzeitlich entwickelte Nurasyid ihre Expertise nicht nur "by doing" weiter, sondern bildete sich parallel professionell weiter: Mehrmals absolvierte sie Trainerlehrgänge in den Vereinigten Staaten, wie beispielsweise bei Nick Saban und den Alabama Crimson Tide.
Ihre ausgeprägte Football-Expertise offenbart Nadine Nurasyid nicht nur als Trainerin, sondern auch medial: Seit 2023 ist sie als NFL-Expertin für den Streaming-Dienst DAZN und im Fernsehen für RTL im Einsatz und moderiert gemeinsam mit der Football-Spielerin Mona Stevens den RTL Nitro-Football-Podcast "Let's talk about Sacks".
Im Jahr 2024 wird Nadine Nurasyid ihr Debüt in der European League of Football geben und neben Natalia Wisniewska als zweite weibliche Personalie auf der Coaching-Ebene mit ihren Fähigkeiten der Defense und dem gesamten Team helfen, sich noch effektiver weiterzuentwickeln:

The Stuttgart Surge coaching staff has a new member in the position of Defense Assistant Coach: With Nadine Nurasyid, Jordan Neuman expands the coaching staff of the Swabian franchise and strengthens the Stuttgart defense with top-class personnel.
Nadine Nurasyid has been one of the most prominent figures in American football in Europe for many years. Born in Munich, she joined the Munich Cowboys Ladies in 2013 and played for the club until 2018. She was named Rookie of the Year in her first season and Defensive Most Valuable Player in 2015. Between 2015 and 2018, she was a regular call-up to the national women's team. She played in the World Women's Football Games in the USA. From 2016 to 2017, she also played for the national flag football team and was runner-up in the 2017 European Championship. In 2018, she played in the Ladies Bowl of the AFVD Women's Football League in her final season. She was named the Most Valuable Player of the Ladies Bowl.
Nurasyid took on coaching duties during her playing days: In 2016, she initially took on the role of position coach with the Straubing Spiders, and in 2018, she was responsible for the defense of the Spiders, who were promoted to the GFL2, as defensive coordinator. After the end of her playing career, the Munich Cowboys hired her as defensive back coach for the men's team in the GFL starting in 2019. During the 2021 season, she was promoted to defensive coordinator for the Munich Cowboys. Due to her success on defense, she also took over as Head Coach of the Munich Cowboys in 2022, setting an international example as the first and only woman in Europe to lead a men's premier league football team as Head Coach. But that wasn't the only way she made her mark: In 2022, she was also honored as Coach of the Year for leading the Munich Cowboys to the playoffs with the best defense in the entire GFL. Nurasyid has also been a member of the German national team coaching staff since 2021.
In the meantime, Nurasyid has not only developed her expertise "by doing", but has also continued her professional training: She has completed several coaching courses in the United States, for example with Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Nadine Nurasyid does not only use her football expertise as a coach, but also in the media: Since 2023 she is working as an NFL expert for the streaming service DAZN and on TV for RTL and hosts the RTL Nitro football podcast "Let's talk about Sacks" together with football player Mona Stevens.
In 2024, Nadine Nurasyid will make her debut in the European League of Football and will join Natalia Wisniewska as the second female coach to use her skills to help the defense and the entire team develop even more effectively:
