Mit Felix Födinger heißt die Stuttgart Surge einen neuen Linebacker für das Roster für die Saison 2024 willkommen. Der Kölner wechselt von den Cologne Centurions in die baden-württembergische Landeshauptstadt.
Der 22-jährige Födinger gab in der vergangenen Saison sein Debüt in der European League of Football und wusste auf Anhieb zu überzeugen. Für die Centurions absolvierte der 1,84 Meter große und 96 Kilogramm schwere Linebacker 9 Spiele, in denen er mit seinen Leistungen auf sich aufmerksam machen konnte: Nicht nur 42 Tackles gelangen ihm, sondern auch 4 Tackles for Loss und 1 QB-Sack. Außerdem sorgte er mit einer Interception und einem Forced Fumble für Ballbesitzwechsel. Er hatte 2 Pass Breakups und konnte zudem einen Touchdown für die Kölner gegen die Frankfurt Galaxy erzielen.
Diese Zahlen zeigen, dass der junge Födinger ein sehr effektiver, talentierter und vielseitiger Linebacker ist, der in der kommenden Saison die Stuttgarter Linebacker-Gruppe ergänzen wird und sich unter Jordan Neuman und dem Coaching Staff gut weiterentwickeln können wird. Durch die Fanfreundschaft zwischen der Stuttgart Surge und den Cologne Centurions kennt Födinger auch die Stuttgarter Fans bereits:

Vor seinem Engagement bei den Cologne Centurions spielte Födinger von 2016 bis 2022 bei den benachbarten Cologne Crocodiles. 2019 gewann er mit ihnen den Junior Bowl der GFL Juniors.
With Felix Födinger, the Stuttgart Surge welcome a new linebacker to their roster for the 2024 season. The Cologne native comes to the Surge from the Cologne Centurions.
The 22-year-old Födinger made his debut in the European League of Football last season and immediately impressed. The 1.84 m, 96 kg linebacker played 9 games for the Centurions and made a name for himself with his performances: He not only recorded 42 tackles, but also 4 tackles for loss and 1 QB sack. These numbers show that the young Födinger is a very effective, talented and versatile linebacker who will complement the Stuttgart linebacker group next season and will be able to develop well under Jordan Neuman and the coaching staff. Before joining the Cologne Centurions, Födinger played for the neighboring Cologne Crocodiles from 2016 to 2022. With them he won the GFL Junior Bowl in 2019.
