Die Vorbereitungen für die kommende Season 2024 nehmen weiter an Fahrt auf. Um den vielen jungen Talenten und erfahrenen Leistungsträgern aus der Region und aus ganz Europa die Möglichkeit zu geben, sich für das künftige Roster der Stuttgart Surge zu empfehlen, veranstaltet das Trainerteam unter der Leitung von Head Coach Jordan Neuman am Sonntag, 19. November 2023 auf dem TUS 1-Sportplatz in der Jahnstraße 92-94 in 70597 Stuttgart-Degerloch ein Tryout.
Bei diesem Probetraining wird den Kandidaten die Gelegenheit geboten, unter genauer Beobachtung des Coaching Staffs an verschiedenen Übungen teilzunehmen und ihre Fähigkeiten zur Schau zu stellen.
Die konkreten Informationen zum Ablauf des Tryouts sind folgende:

Mit Blick auf das Roster der vergangenen Season kommt man schnell zu der Feststellung, dass das Tryout bei der Kaderplanung von Jordan Neuman einen hohen Stellenwert einnimmt. Fast exakt vor einem Jahr, nämlich am 20. November 2022, nahmen sieben Spieler am erst Tryout der Surge teil und standen dann knapp 10 Monate später im Finale der European League of Football: Die Spieler Luca Siebert, Emmanuel Häfele, Markos Dubravkic, Maximilian Dommermuth, Florian Lengauer, Kai Singer und Julian Jakob haben damals die Herausforderung angenommen, sich zunächst einen Platz im Roster und dann mit dem Team den Weg bis ins Finale zu erkämpfen. Für Maximilian Dommermuth war es beim Tryout 2022 wichtig, sich von Anfang an hohe Ziele zu setzen:
„Ich bin zum Tryout gekommen, um mein Bestes zu geben und zu zeigen, was ich in den letzten zwei Jahren gelernt habe. Mein Ziel war es auf jeden Fall in der nächsten Saison in der European League of Football zu spielen.“
Der Erfolg von Florian Lengauer zeigt, dass man auch den Spaß an der Sache nie verlieren darf, auch wenn man unter Beobachtung steht:
„Ich selbst bin ganz offen an das Tryout rangegangen. Ein Stück weit wollte ich mich beweisen und zeigen, dass ich das Zeug habe in der ELF zu spielen. Andererseits wollte ich einfach Football spielen und Spaß haben.“
Mit Sicherheit werden auch beim diesjährigen Tryout vielversprechende Athleten ihr Können unter Beweis stellen. Das Probetraining ist öffentlich und Zuschauer/innen, die sich davon ein Bild machen möchten, sind herzlich willkommen.
Die Stuttgart Surge freut sich auf ein ereignisreiches und erfolgreiches Tryout!
The preparations for the upcoming 2024 season continue. In order to give local youngsters, experienced athletes from the region, and talent from all over Europe the opportunity to recommend themselves for the future roster of the Stuttgart Surge, the coaching team under the direction of Head Coach Jordan Neuman is going to hold a tryout on Sunday, 19th of November 2023 at the TUS 1 sports field in Jahnstraße 92-94 in 70597 Stuttgart-Degerloch.
At this tryout, candidates will have the opportunity to take part in various exercises and drills to showcase their skills under the close observation of the coaching staff.
The following table provides the details of the tryouts:

Looking at last season's roster, it's easy to see that tryouts play an important role in Jordan Neuman's squad planning. Almost exactly one year ago, on 20th November 2022, seven players took part in the Surge's first tryout and made it to the championship round of the European League of Football almost 10 months later: The players, Luca Siebert, Emmanuel Häfele, Markos Dubravkic, Maximilian Dommermuth, Florian Lengauer, Kai Singer and Julian Jakob took up the challenge of first earning a place on the roster and then fought their way to the final with the team. For Maximilian Dommermuth, it was important to set himself high goals right from the start at the 2022 tryout:
"I came to the tryout to give my best and show what I've learned over the last two years. My goal was definitely to play in the European League of Football next season."
Florian Lengauer's success shows that you should never lose your sense of fun, even if you are under observation:
"I approached the tryout with an open mind. To a certain extent, I wanted to prove myself and show that I have what it takes to play in the ELF. On the other hand, I just wanted to play football and have fun."
Surely, promising athletes will demonstrate their skills at this year's tryout. The tryouts are public and visitors are welcome to watch.
