In der kommenden Saison wird ein weiterer Franzose im Kader von Stuttgart Surge stehen. Chaska Rémy Perron kommt von den Saarland Hurricanes und wird die Passverteidigung unterstützen.
„Ich habe mich für Surge entschieden, weil sie für mich in der schwersten Conference spielen und ich finde die Herausforderung sehr interessant. Zudem habe ich letztes Jahr ein Spiel gesehen und habe dabei sehr viel Potenzial im Team erkannt. Ich freue mich sehr auf die harte Arbeit mit der Mannschaft und möchte jedem beweisen, dass wir ein Team sind, auf das man sich verlassen kann“, sagt Perron.
2011 begann er in der Jugend der Besançon Bisons mit Football. Zuvor hat er sehr erfolgreich Handball auf dem höchsten nationalen Level gespielt. Vier Jahre später wechselte er dann zum französischen Top-Team Black Panther Thonon. Dort eroberte er sich schnell einen Startplatz in der Herrenmannschaft.
Mit dem Team am Genfer See stand er 2017, 2018 und 2019 im Finale um die Meisterschaft, die er 2019 auch gewann. Zwei Jahre zuvor feierte er bereits den Sieg im EFL-Bowl gegen das italienische Top-Team Rhinos Milano. Für den Defensive Back gab es zudem eine persönliche Auszeichnung, denn er wurde 2018 intern zum Defensive MVP gewählt.
In der abgelaufenen Saison wechselte er dann in die GFL zu den Saarland Hurricanes. Dort machte der 27–Jährige den nächsten Schritt in seiner Entwicklung und verbuchte 35 Tackles, zwei Tackles for Loss, eine Interception und fünf Pass Breakups. Zudem blockte er einen Kick. Diese Fähigkeiten wird der französische Nationalspieler und EM-Vierte nun auch in der European League of Football unter Beweis stellen.
Another Frenchmen is added to the roster of Stuttgart Surge for the upcoming season. Chaska Rémy Perron leaves the Saarland Hurricanes to join the defense.
„I chose the Surge because they are playing in the toughest conference and I really like the challenge. In addition to that, I have seen a game from last year and realized this team has a lot of potential. I’m really looking forward to collectively working hard and proving everybody, that we are a team to rely on,“ Perron says.
After successfully playing handball on the highest national level he played his first snaps of football in 2011 with the youth team of the Besançon Bisons. Four years later he switched to the French top club Thonon Black Panthers where he was quickly named a starter for the senior team. Perron won the EFL-Bowl in 2017 against the Italian powerhouse Rhinos Milano and he played in every national championship final from 2017 to 2019, winning the last attempt in 2019. The defensive back not only had team success, he also collected the teams defensive MVP award in 2018.
Last season he played for the Saarland Hurricanes of the GFL where the 27-year old could further develop his skills. He racked up 35 tackles, two tackles for loss, one interception, one blocked kick and five defended passes. Now, the member of the French national team wants to show his abilities in the European League of Football.
