Defensive back Konstantin Katz Returns to his native Stuttgart

It all started in the youth of the Stuttgart Scorpions. The journey continued to Switzerland and the Calanda Broncos and finally to the European League of Football and Frankfurt Galaxy. Now a native of Stuttgart comes back home. Of course we’re talking about safety Konstantin Katz.

Statement Konstantin Katz: "I am very happy to finally play for a team in my hometown again. Over the last few years, football in Germany has developed tremendously and with this year's changes, I am convinced that Stuttgart can become a big name in German football again. I'm thankful that Coach Neuman is giving me the chance to be back on the field for my hometown and I will do my absolute best to help this team move forward."

The 27-year-old Stuttgart native started at the age of 15 with the Scorpions and moved to the Seniors of the GFL1 in 2015. In the meantime, he was able to win the state championship with the Baden-Württemberg Lions youth team in 2014. He stayed with the Scorpions until 2019, before moving to Chur, Switzerland, to join the Calanda Broncos. Here he was able to win the Swiss championship in 2021. In 2022, he moved back to Germany to the European League of Football and Frankfurt Galaxy. In the same year, his name also appeared in the extended 100-man roster of the German national team. Now he’s back at the GAZI-Stadion and will play for DB coach Primo Lursini in 2023.

Katz is the third defensive back for the 2023 season after Ben Wenzler and Goran Zec and the second local hero after Wenzler in this position group.
