David Zeller will coach the inside linebackers at Stuttgart Surge

David Zeller is the next member of the Surge coaching staff and will come to the state capital to take care of the inside linebackers. He's no stranger to the staff as he was inside linebackers coach for the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns from 2016 onwards and won three German Bowls as well as two titles in the Central European Football League together with the team. With his switch he now wants to contribute to rebuilding the franchise.

Statement David Zeller: "Signing with the Surge is an interesting opportunity to compete at the highest level on an international stage at the European League of Football. This is a chance to help to contribute to the rebuilding of this franchise and to help our players to play to their fullest potential."

David Zeller: The now 36-year old plays American Football since the start of the new millenium. After being active in his native Pforzheim for the Wilddogs and Panthers, he first joined the Danube Hammers (now Neckar Hammers) and then in 2011 the Holzgerlingen Twister, then member of the GFL 2. Already during that time, he coached the linebackers of the clubs U19 team and was later on also the team's defensive coordinator. He stopped playing in 2015 to fully concentrate on his coaching career and was responsible for the inside linebackers of the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns from 2016 onwards. In 2020, he also took over as special teams coordinator of the Unicorns. Together with the team he won three German Bowls and two titles in the Central European League of Football. Now he follows the steps of Neumann, Brenner and Pastorino in joining the Stuttgart Surge.
