Das nächste Re-Signing bindet ein Talent aus der Region für ein weiteres Jahr an Stuttgart Surge. Cornerback Julian Jakob wird seine Entwicklung nahe der Heimat fortsetzen und in der Saison 2023 wieder für die Surge Defense auflaufen.
Statement Julian Jakob: „Ich habe mich entschieden, wieder für die Surge zu spielen, weil ich denke, dass die Stuttgarter Surge ein sehr unterschätztes Team ist. Besonders dieses Jahr mit den neuen Trainern und der Vision, die Stuttgart hat, denke ich, dass es ein großartiges Jahr mit all den neuen Spielern werden wird. Und ich persönlich möchte mich nach einem verletzungsbedingten Jahr, in dem ich keinen Fußball gespielt habe, verbessern.“
Jakob verletzte sich in der letzten Saison leider bereits vor Saisonbeginn und fiel deshalb die komplette Saison aus. 2017 begann der Cornerback bei den Ludwigsburg Bulldogs in der U17 mit American Football. Nach Spielzeiten bei den Pattonville Generals und den Stuttgart Scorpions erfolget der Wechsel zu Stuttgart Surge in der ersten European League of Football Saison.
The next re-signing ties a local talent to Stuttgart Surge for another year. Cornerback Julian Jakob will continue his development close to home and will once again suit up for the Surge Defense in the 2023 season.
Statement Julian Jakob: „I chose to play for the surge again because in my opinion I think the Stuttgart surge is a very underrated team. Specially this year with the new coaches and the vision Stuttgart have, I think it will be a great year with all the new players. And personally I want to improve myself after an injury year with not playing football.“
Jakob unfortunately suffered an injury before the season started last season and was out for the entire season as a result. In 2017, the cornerback started playing American football with the Ludwigsburg Bulldogs in the U17. After playing for the Pattonville Generals and the Stuttgart Scorpions, he made the switch to Stuttgart Surge in the first European League of Football season.
