GFL Rookie of the Year 2014, vier Siege im German Bowl, zwei Siege im CEFL Bowl und ein Europameistertitel – Aurieus “Ari” Minton hat ohne Zweifel im Football auf europäischem Boden alles erreicht. Zumindest fast, denn ein Titel in der European League of Football steht noch aus. Deshalb hat sich der 2,08 m große Wide Receiver dafür entschieden, 2023 bei Stuttgart Surge zu spielen. Eine neue Herausforderung und ein weiterer Titel in seiner beeindruckenden Vita sollen es sein.

Minton spielte in seiner Laufbahn bei nur einem einzigen Team: den Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns. Mit diesen war er äußerst erfolgreich und folgt nun seinem Head Coach und Offensive Coordinator Jordan Neuman zu Stuttgart Surge. Zuletzt fing er am 8. Oktober im German Bowl noch einen Touchdown-Pass von Quarterback Reilly Hennessey, auf den er auch wieder bei Surge treffen wird. Minton konnte sich dort seinen vierten deutschen Meistertitel sichern.
Sein Bruder, Offensive Lineman Darnell Minton, ist bereits seit zwei Jahren in der European League of Football beheimatet, zunächst bei Frankfurt Galaxy und in der letzten Saison bei Stuttgart Surge. Aurieus erlebte also Sieg und Niederlage in der European League of Football hautnah mit, war sein Bruder doch erst beim erfolgreichsten und dann beim erfolglosesten Team der Liga aktiv. Aurieus möchte nun seinen Teil dazu beitragen, dass sich daran bei Stuttgart Surge etwas ändert. Mit seiner immensen Körpergröße stellt er jeden gegnerischen Spieler vor ein Matchup-Problem und ist äußerst gefährlich in der Red Zone. Nach Louis Geyer und Yannick Mayr ist er der dritte Wide Receiver der Surge für die Saison 2023.

At least almost, as a victory in the European League of Football Championship Game is still to come. That's exactly why the 6′10″ wide receiver has decided to play for Stuttgart Surge in 2023. A new challenge and another title in his impressive CV is what he's looking for.

Minton has played for exactly one team in his career so far: the Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns. He was extremely successful with the Unicorns and now follows his Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator Jordan Neuman to Stuttgart Surge. Most recently on October 8th in the German Bowl, he caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Reilly Hennessey, whom he'll meet again at Surge. Minton secured his fourth German title with the victory in the final.
His brother, offensive lineman Darnell Minton, has played in the European League of football since the beginning two years ago. First with Frankfurt Galaxy and then with Stuttgart Surge. Aurieus has therefore experienced victory and defeat in the European League of Football at first hand, as his brother first played for the most successful team and then for the least successful team. He now wants to contribute his part in changing the culture at Surge. With his immense height he's a matchup problem for every opponent and also extremely dangerous in the red zone. After the signings of Louis Geyer and Yannick Mayr, he's now the third receiver signed by the Surge for the upcoming 2023 season.
